Success Story ORBIT Conferences
The challenge
Since 1999 the organization ORBIT e.V. holds a yearly meeting under the theme »Organic Recovery and Biological Treatment«. Every other year the meeting turns into a large conference with about 450 conferees and 250 submitted scientific papers. Due to a rotating event location and therefore yearly changing local organizing committees the demands and requirements for organization and execution are very high.
The solution
With the introduction of Converia in 2006 for the organization of the ORBIT conference, many work processes were standardized and simplified which led to a much higher quality of the event itself. The organizers of ORBIT 2009 for example were able to use the Converia marketing-tools to inform all conferees of the previous years about the 2009 conference via automated mass emailing.
A very important Converia functionality for the ORBIT conferences is the automated conferee registration with included online credit card payment. By using this feature a lot of time and personnel has been saved. Another feature the focus is on, is the online reviewing of all submitted papers by an international board of reviewers and the program committee.
Furthermore, Converia created the corporate design of the ORBIT conferences and produced all print products such as the conference and call for paper invitation flyers, posters, conference binder, name tags and the official proceedings with all submitted papers.
