32nd International Geographical Congress in Cologne 2012 organized with Converia

The preparations for the the 32nd International Geographical Congress in Cologne in 2012 have already started. The pre-registration for an expected 2000 conferees coming to the rhineland between Augst 26th and 30th 2012 is online and ready to go. In order to be able to handle not only the 2000 participants, but also an estimated 1500 scientific papers that will be submitted prior to the conference, the organizers (International Geographical Union (IGU)) and the local organizing comittee have decided on using the Conference-Management-System Converia.

Converia realizes the online-registration of the conferees including online credit card payment and money transfer as well as the pre-registration of interested persons. Furthermore, the components Paper Submission and Paper Reviewing provide an easy and comfortable way of submitting abstracts and manuscripts (either as document uploads or via an online form) as well as a location-independent reviewing of all papers by the international reviewing committee.

For IGC2012 the Conference-Management-Software Converia will be available in french for the first time as well as english and german. All three versions will run parallel.

Next to project consulting and customization of the Conference-Management-Software, the Converia team was asked to design the IGC2012 website according to the customers specifications.
