About us - the Converia story
The foundation for our Conference Management Software Converia was laid with Christian Burger & Peter M. Nocken founding lombego systems GbR in 2000. As a supplier of »Corporate Webdesign and Web Programming« until 2004 the company grew steadily but then decided to specialize on »software development for the internet« focusing more and more on just the technical side of the business.
This resulted in the LANCE product group, which (among others) consists of the Content Management System LANCE CMS and, up until 2009, the Conference-Management-System LANCE Conference.
In the past five years LANCE Conference has been used numerous times for the organization of scientific conferences and thus became an important tool for conference organizers. The number of conferences handled with the system grew steadily each year. Today we are supporting several installations at Universities throughout Europe, help professional conference organizers (PCOs) with their daily work and handle large international conferences from the planning to the wrap-up phase.
Over the years the functionality of the software, as well as the accompanying services, has grown considerably which resulted in a complete makeover of LANCE Conference in 2009.
LANCE Conference becomes Converia
With the introduction of Converia, Lombego Systems is doing the next transformation from an »internet software development company« to a »highly specialized producer of conference management software for the scientific world«. This means, that Converia is being separated from the LANCE product family and steps into the foreground as an independent brand and product.
Currently the Lombego Systems team is made up of about 10 people in the area of software devleopment, support and sales. The internationalisation of the software in the pan-european area and beyond is being pushed. To further strengthen the area of software development, Mr. Rainer Kretzer became the third managing partner in 2009. With this step we take into account the positive business trends and emerging challenges in recent years and expand the technological expertise in the management.
